June 17, 2024, Empowering Innovation in Dementia Care for startups en scale- ups

Workshop: June 17, 2024, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Location: eHealth Living & Learning Lab, UVA AMC, Amsterdam

This workshop targets Dutch companies that create support products for individuals with dementia, their families, and caregivers, aiming to enable them to live independently and happily at home for longer periods. The primary objective of the workshops is to reduce the vulnerability of start-ups and scale-ups, striving for a sustainable ecosystem.

This ecosystem transcends domains and aligns with both healthcare practice and business, prioritizing the patient perspective. Collaboration between healthcare practice and business occurs within this system, facilitating intensive knowledge sharing stemming from the ZonMW Dementia Research Program. Through an integrated approach, contributions are made to both national and international knowledge infrastructures.

During this workshop, companies are introduced to practical and applicable design principles for individuals with dementia. These principles, scientifically grounded, are presented and discussed by JAIN board member Dr. Thomas Engelsma. Implementing these principles helps align a value proposition seamlessly with user needs. By actively supporting and guiding start-ups and scale-ups, we offer them the opportunity to strengthen themselves in a complex market, such as that of support products for individuals with dementia and their caregivers.
